Artista inglese, nato a Londra nel 1947, Noel Myles è noto per i suoi collage di grandi dimensioni composti da piccole fotografie, scattate da vari punti di vista e in momenti diversi.
Le sue opere, molte delle quali ritraggono la campagna inglese, prendono forma attraverso l’assemblaggio di centinaia di negativi 35 mm, uniti in un’unica composizione, capace di condensare tempo, spazio e movimento in una visione complessa e stratificata.
The challenge I faced with photography was that the instantaneous static viewpoint, provided by the camera’s lens and shutter, didn’t represent the continuous flow of the act of looking. It seemed as if the single-frame photograph had been held back to the level of the dictionary; the single word. It was the visual equivalent of overlooking the potential to link words to convey ideas and meaning. I couldn’t accept the notion of an isolated, decisive moment being capable of encapsulating our experience of life.

Noel Myles ha studiato belle arti alla Hornsey and Walthamstow School of Art. Le opere di Myles sono state esposte in molti musei prestigiosi come il Victoria & Albert Museum, il National Museum of Photography, il Film & Television e la Royal Academy of Art.
Oggi vive e lavora a Sudbury, Suffolk, nel Regno Unito.
