Trent Parke è un fotoreporter australiano, noto per le sue fotografie di strada e di vita quotidiana, poetiche e spesso venate di un sottile black humour.
Le sue immagini, prevalentemente in bianco e nero e caratterizzate da fortissimi contrasti tra luce e ombra, pur affondando le radici nella fotografia documentaria, si collocano in uno spazio liminale tra realtà e finzione, offrendo un ritratto inedito della sua terra natale.
Trent Parke è nato nel 1971 ed è cresciuto a Newcastle, nel Nuovo Galles del Sud. Le sue opere sono state esposte in numerose mostre e sono presenti in importanti collezioni permanenti, tra cui quella della National Gallery of Australia, del Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, della National Gallery of Victoria, dell’Art Gallery of New South Wales e dell’Art Gallery of South Australia. Nel 2007 è diventato il primo fotografo australiano a essere ammesso come membro effettivo della Magnum Photos.
